In a recent development, it has been revealed that the Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is set to leave for Dubai on February 15 for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which kicks off on February 19.  Rohit Sharma and Co. are currently starring in the England tour of India which will have its final ODI on February 12, Wednesday. 

As per sources, the team will rest for a few days and will leave for Dubai on Saturday for their first match against Bangladesh on February 20. In a unique hybrid model, India will play all their matches in Dubai, marking a change in the tournament's format. 

India Gears Up For Champions Trophy As They Leave For Dubai This Week

Ahead of their departure, the BCCI is expected to hold a press conference to address the media and outline their plans for the marquee event. Currently involved in an ODI series against England, the Indian side will forgo any warmup games, as all participating teams will gather in Pakistan for the tournament.

In another development, according to SportsTak, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to announce the new prize money for the Champions Trophy 2025 winner later this week. 

India Set To Play In Dubai As Pakistan Hosts Rest Of The Tournament

For the unaware, matches for the tournament will be held in Dubai and in Pakistan’s Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. India, along with one of the semi-finals, will play in Dubai, while the remaining matches are scheduled in Pakistan. 

The venue for the final will depend on India's performance, if they reach the title decider, the final will be held in Dubai. Otherwise, Pakistan will host the clash on March 9.

In the tournament, teams are divided into two groups, with India placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. After facing Bangladesh, the Men in Blue will face Pakistan on February 23, and complete the group stage against New Zealand on March 2.
