Harshit Rana has been superb lately and is the front-runner to replace Bumrah in case the MI star gets ruled out of the tournament. Talking about Rana, he made his ODI debut in this series and has been doing well. So far, he has taken 4 wickets in two innings, at an economy of 7.19.  Further, he is the only bowler to take three-wicket haul on his debut in all three formats.

Further, he rose to fame in the IPL, where he took 19 wickets in 13 innings and since then, there hasn't been looking back for the Delhi-based cricketer.

Similar to Rana, Varun made his ODI debut in the 2nd match against England in Cuttack, Odisha. He earned that opportunity because of his excellent performance in T20Is, as he is the leading wicket-taker in the shortest format of the game this year with 14 wickets in 5 matches.

Further, Varun shone in Kuldeep Yadav's absence and is now giving a tough competition to the DC star, who isn't looking at this finest.

3. Mohammed Siraj

Siraj not being a part of India's Champions Trophy squad came as a shock for everyone. Rohit Sharma explained the decision and remarked that the ex-RCB star wasn't delivering with the old ball, and in the middle-overs led to the team dropping him.

However, Siraj has been one of India's finest bowlers in the past five years. Further till the 2023 World Cup, Siraj was India's leading wicket-taker from 2019-2023. Thus, this exclusion came as a surprise for several fans including cricket pundits.
