Faf du Plessis will lead JSK in SA20 [Twitter]
In a significant development, Joburg Super Kings have released the list of their retained players ahead of the second season of South Africa's first-ever global T20 league, the SA20. Notably, the Super Kings will have fourteen cricketers, including six pre-signed and eight retained players, in their squad heading to the second SA20 auction.
The pre-signed players' list comprises skipper Faf du Plessis, alongside express pacer Gerald Coetzee, famed all-rounders- Moeen Ali and David Wiese and Sam Cook and Zahir Khan. While Coetzee emerged as their go-to man with the ball, scalping 17 wickets in nine outings, Du Plessis finished as the second-highest scorer with 369 runs at an average of 41 and a blistering strike rate of 147.60.
Meanwhile, JSK have also retained eight players- Leus du Plooy, Reeza Hendricks, Lizaad Williams, Nandre Burger, Donovan Ferreira, Aaron Phangiso, Sibonelo Makhanya and Kyle Simmonds, ahead of the second SA20.
So, they will have five slots, including three auction picks (two can be local or overseas), a wildcard pick (local or overseas) and rookie draft pick (must be local), to fill using their remaining budget of R6.1 million.

The quality of the players already included in the squads, including a few newcomers, is testimony to the success of the inaugural season.
