Indian opener Mayank Agarwal is all set to return to action against Tamil Nadu. The 32-year-old has had a rough time of late but he is back fit after a health emergency that he suffered while travelling back from Agartala.

After helping Karnataka seal a 29-run win over Tripura, the 32-year-old survived a major medical scare on his way back. He was travelling from Agartala to Delhi on an Indigo Flight where he ended up consuming an unidentified liquid which he considered to be water.

The consumption led to a series of side effects, it resulted in vomiting and it led to him being rushed to a hospital in Agartala. The Indian opener was constantly monitored by the medical team present as well as officials from the respective state cricket associations.

After receiving medical care, Agarwal shared positive updates about his health via social media. He stayed there overnight and was discharged the following day.

After returning to Bengaluru, the 32-year-old underwent another check-up following which he was asked to rest for the next few days. The health emergency forced him to miss the Ranji Trophy fixture against Railways in Surat.

But, post his medical examination in Bengaluru and a few days of rest, he has been cleared to return to action. As a result, Agarwal has been named in Karnataka's squad for their next fixture against table-toppers Tamil Nadu on February 9.
