Jasprit Bumrah Seen In Serious Chat With Coach Gautam Gambhir [Source: @mkr4411/X.com]
India star pacer Jasprit Bumrah looked frustrated towards the end of Day 2 of the first Test match between India and England at Headingley, Leeds.
The 31-year-old bowled really well and took three important wickets, but the rest of the Indian bowlers and fielders couldn’t support him enough. Because of this, England managed to fight back after India scored a big total of 471 runs.
Gambhir And Bumrah Spotted Discussing Strategy In Dressing Room
During the final hour of play on Saturday, Bumrah was seen having a serious and lively conversation with India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir in the dressing room. The talk seemed intense and showed how upset Bumrah was with how the match was going.
This moment happened when England was batting and Bumrah was off the field. Shardul Thakur, India’s fourth fast bowler, was just brought into the attack. While Thakur was bowling his first over, cameras showed Bumrah in the dressing room, talking a lot and clearly unhappy with the situation.
No one knows exactly what Bumrah and Gambhir were saying, but it looked like Bumrah was trying to explain something important to the coach. A photo of this moment was taken and quickly went viral on social media.
Earlier, India had a dream start. From 430/3, the team was on track to post a score well beyond 500. But the lower order collapsed, adding just 41 more runs. England’s Josh Tongue played a major role in that collapse with figures of 4/86.
England Recover Strongly After Bumrah’s Day 2 Jolt
When India came out to bowl, Bumrah struck in the very first over. However, Duckett (62) and Pope (100*) fought back hard, forming strong partnerships and taking advantage of India’s sloppy fielding. Pope’s century came off just 125 balls, and by the end of Day 2, England were still very much alive in the Test.
India will need a solid plan on Day 3. With Pope settled and Brook fresh at the crease, England are slowly creeping back into the game. For India, Bumrah can’t do it all alone, he’ll need better backup from the rest of the bowling unit and sharper work in the field to dominate the game.
