BCCI, the governing body of Indian cricket has announced India's squad for the three T20Is in Ireland. The team full of youngsters and IPL stars include some big comebacks which includes most-awaited comeback of Jasprit Bumrah. He has also been made the captain of the side and will lead India's T20I team for the first time. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as the deputy of Bumrah which gives him the leadership experience at the international level ahead of the Asian Games.

Also making comeback are IPL stars like Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma, while Rinku Singh has also found a place in the team. Prasidh Krishna who has also recovered successfully after a long injury layoff has been included and these are good signs for India with Asia Cup and World Cup around the corner.

Hardik Pandya who has been leading India's T20I team after the World Cup 2022 has been rested for the tour along with Suryakumar Yadav. Also, as expected Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not included in the squad. The likes of Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal retain their place from the team that will play T20Is in Caribbean but Umran Malik has been dropped from the side.

The spin duo of Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav is also absent from the squad and Ravi Bishnoi along with Shahbaz Ahmed are the two spinners in the squad. As there is very little gap between the end of Ireland series and Asia cup, most of the players who are regular in the side have been rested.

Interestingly, the likes of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are not included in the squad, and the mystery around their availability for the Asia Cup and World Cup continues to get darker and darker with each passing day. The series, though, would be pretty interesting, as there are some exciting potential debutants in the squad like Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma.

The Ireland series starts from 18th of August and will include three T20Is against an Ireland team that has just qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024 after a good performance in European World Cup Qualifiers.
