The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season was suspended for one week due to the ongoing war-like situation between India and Pakistan. The situation escalated quickly on Thursday as the Punjab Kings Vs Delhi Capitals match at Dharamsala was abandoned due to security threats.

Now, as per the official IPL website, the league will commence next week, but everything depends on the current situaton between the two nations. CSK, SRH and RR are already out of the playoff qualification scenario with 7 teams remaining in the race. Now, with the IPL suspended for one week, let us look at the qualification scenarios for the remaining seven teams.

1) Gujarat Titans

The table toppers of the IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans have 16 points with 8 wins out of 11 matches. The team has one simple job once the IPL 2025 resumes - win the next game and qualify for the playoffs. The Shubman Gill led side needs just a solitary win and it will assure them a place in the knockouts.

2) Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Another team who are nearing the playoff qualification. Just like GT, RCB, too, have 16 points, but the Titans have a superior net run-rate and hence, they are the table toppers. Once the league starts, RCB will play against LSG and a win there will seal their place in the playoffs.

3) Punjab Kings

Had the game Vs Delhi was completed on Thursday and Punjab would have won the contest, the Shreyas Iyer led PBKS would have become the first team to qualify for the playoffs. They currently have 15 points in their bag and if the PBKS Vs DC game resumes after IPL suspension and they beat the Capitals, then the franchise will reach the knockouts easily.

4) Mumbai Indians

MI suffered a jolt when they lost Vs GT in their last match. Currently, the Hardik Pandya led side has 14 points in 12 matches and they need to win their remaining two matches to assure them a place in the knockouts. A loss in the next match Vs PBKS will jeopardise their situation.

5) Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals have played 11 matches and have 13 points in their bag. With three matches still to be played, if other results go in their way, DC only need to win two of those matches and that will take them to 17 points and a qualification will most likely be sealed. However, if they lose the next match, the qualification will come under threat if MI beat PBKS in their next game.

6) Kolkata Knight Riders

In 12 matches, KKR have 11 points and two wins in the remaining two matches will only take them to 15 points, which might not be enough to take them to the playoffs. The other match results have to completely go in their favour and only then can they sneak into the next round, but the probability is really low.

7) Lucknow Super Giants

The Rishabh Pant led side have won 5 out of 11 matches, and if they win their remaining three matches, LSG will reach a total of 16 points. That won't guarantee them a place in the knockouts completely but they would still be in the race. If teams like PBKS and MI fumble in the last leg, and if LSG win their remaining matches, the team can go through to the next round.
