Jaiswal, Gaikwad In, No Sanju Samson As India A Squad Announced For England Tour

On Friday, May 16, BCCI announced the much awaited squad for India A tour of England. Notably, India A will play two matches against England Lions starting on May 30. Talking about the squad, Abhimanyu Easwaran will lead the side, while it features the likes of Ishan Kishan, Karun Nair and Shardul Thakur. 

The BCCI press release also mentioned that Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill will join the side ahead of the 2nd Test and are likely to take part in the 2nd match that starts on June 6. Here is the complete squad. 

Abhimanyu Easwaran (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Dhruv Jurel (VC) (WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan (WK), Manav Suthar, Tanush Kotian, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep, Harshit Rana, Anshul Kamboj, Khaleel Ahmed, Ruturaj Gaikwad , Sarfaraz Khan, Tushar Deshpande, Harsh Dubey.

Shreyas Iyer Among Noticeable Absentees

As soon as the squad was made public, the fans noticed that the list missed out on Shreyas Iyer, who did well for Mumbai in their domestic season. However, a section of fans were also optimistic that Iyer might now be a part of India squad for England series. 

Talking about India A's tour of England, they will play two Test matches and a third match will be a intra-squad game that will take place on June 13. Other than Shreyas Iyer, the fans also questioned the absence of Sai Kishore in the team as the Gujarat Titans star has done well in the domestic circuit.
