On Tuesday, April 1, Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns against Punjab Kings for the 13th match of IPL 2025. Both teams are fresh off a win as LSG registered a win over SRH, while Punjab Kings stunned Gujarat Titans away from home.
For the upcoming clash, both teams are sweating hard in the nets and the fans are concerned over LSG seamer Mayank Yadav's fitness. Notably, Yadav, who was one of the finds of IPL 2024, is suffering from a back injury and was expected to miss start of IPL 2025.
Meanwhile, this article will shed light on whether Yadav is fit for tonight's clash against Punjab Kings.
Will Mayank Yadav Return For LSG's Match vs PBKS?
Unfortunately for LSG fans, they have to wait more to see Mayank Yadav in action as the right-arm seamer is unlikely to feature against Punjab Kings. Notably, Yadav was on his road to recovery and might have got fit in time for today's clash, however, he mistakingly kicked his toe on the bed and has suffered an infection.
Now the fresh injury has further pushed Mayank's return by a week or two and the same was confirmed by LSG head coach Justin Langer.
"Mayank, who everyone was very excited about last year, he was going quite well (coming back from a back injury), and he kicked his toe on the bed," Langer said.
It is likely that Mayank will return to the playing XI only towards the end of April 2025.
