The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is set to commence on Saturday, March 22 and while all the franchises have their injury issues sorted, there is one team which is sweating hard on their players' fitness - Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Almost their entire bowling ;ineup is injured and the team will play their first match on Monday.
The team from Lucknow will play their first match of the season against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vizag and the side will be without their entire pace department as none of their main bowlers are match-fit at the moment.
Mayank likely to miss first half of the season, Shardul back?
As per a report by Express Sports, pace sensation and the breakout star of last season's IPL, Mayank Yadav will miss at-least the first half of the season as the pacer will most likely be available from April 15. By then, LSG would have played there 7 matches of the season.
Mayank's career was marred with injuries and he missed quite a few matches last season as well as the pacer suffered stress fracture.
Not only Mayank, but another key bowler, Mohsin Khan is likely to be ruled out of the entire season. The fast bowler suffered an ACL injury and is likely to be unavailable. In his place, Shardul Thakur will join the squad and an official confirmation will come soon.
Avesh, Akash Deep unavailable for 3 games
The entire pace quatret is out and Avesh Khan and Akash Deep also joins the list as the duo are nursing injuries and as per the Express Sports report, could miss upto 3 matches which comes as a shocker for the LSG franchise who are gunning for their maiden IPL title.
