In a significant development, Cricket Australia (CA) has released the list of men's players with a central contract for the 2025-26 season. Promising opener Sam Konstas has earned his maiden contract for the national side, while explosive batter Jake Fraser-McGurk hasn't found a place.

Cricket Australia Releases Central Contract For 2025-26

Apart from Sam Konstas, all-rounder Beau Webster is another player who has bagged the central contract for the very first time. Renowned for his extraordinary all-round prowess, Webster was Mitchell Marsh's replacement in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last year.

Meanwhile, Konstas was impressive in the BGT, as he went on to dominate ace Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah on his maiden Test outing. While Cricket Australia has shown faith in these two players, premier spinner Matthew Kuhnemann has earned a recall into the contracted players' list following his bowling exploits in the Sri Lanka Tests.

On the other hand, Jake Fraser-McGurk failed to bag a contract for his inconsistent returns in national colours. Sean Abbott, Aaron Hardie and Todd Murphy are three players, who have been omitted from last year's list.

The rest of the central contract has several familiar faces, with the likes of Pat Cummins, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Nathan Lyon, Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell retaining their places.

Australia Release Schedule For Blockbuster Home Summer

Recently, Cricket Australia announced a packed schedule for the 2025-26 home summer. The Men in Yellow will cross swords against India and South Africa in two separate white-ball assignments before taking on arch-rivals England in the much-awaited Ashes.
