The Irani Cup 2024, one of the most celebrated fixtures in Indian domestic cricket, is all set to take center stage once again,and will feature a highly anticipated clash between the defending Ranji Trophy champions, Mumbai, and the Rest of India team. 

Organized by the BCCI, the annual Irani Cup is scheduled to begin on October 1 and will be held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Mumbai, the powerhouse of Indian domestic cricket, secured their spot in the Irani Cup after a dominant Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season. In the final, Mumbai defeated Vidarbha by a convincing 169-run margin to clinch their record-extending 42nd Ranji Trophy title. 

The Rest of India team, as per tradition, will comprise some of the most talented players from various state teams across India. The squad will be selected from the top performers in the domestic circuit who did not represent Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy
