Mumbai Indians acquired a number of fresh faces at the IPL 2024 auction on December 19 to add to their core squad. The franchise roped in Kerala-based all-rounder Shreyas Gopal as well as speedsters Gerald Coetzee and Dilshan Madushanka among their overseas signings.
Back in November, the Mumbai Indians team management retained 17 of their cricketers, including senior members Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav. The franchise also announced Hardik Pandya as their new captain after trading in the star all-rounder from the Gujarat Titans camp.
Mumbai Indians IPL 2024 full squad after auction
On November 26, i.e., on IPL 2024 retention day, the Mumbai Indians franchise announced a retention list of 17 of their star players for next year’s season.
The retentions features Hardik Pandya and Romario Shepherd, considering the Mumbai Indians team management had traded in the two cricketers from Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants respectively.

Mumbai Indians also made new recruits in the form of overseas bowlers Gerald Coetzee (South Africa), Dilshan Madushanka (Sri Lanka) and Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan) as well as Kerala and former SRH star Shreyas Gopal among others.
