The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul, hailing from Bengaluru and serving as the captain of the IPL's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has disclosed a tale that adds a touch of Bollywood glamour to his identity.

As it turns out, KL Rahul's name has an unexpected connection to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. In a candid revelation, the 31-year-old disclosed that his mother, an ardent fan of the charismatic actor, drew inspiration from Shah Rukh Khan's on-screen characters in the 90s, many of whom bore the name 'Rahul.' This intriguing tidbit came to light when Rahul shared the story on the popular show 'Breakfast With Champions Season 7.'

"I used to go with that story. I told one of my friends, who probably watches a lot of Bollywood movies, and he said, 'Bro, Shah Rukh's first character as Rahul was in 1994, and you're born in 1992. So, it doesn't make sense."

Undeterred by the revelation that his mother's story was a playful fabrication, Rahul embarked on a quest for the truth. Upon confronting his mother about the apparent discrepancy, he received a cool response:

"Something like that... Who cares now!"

The plot thickens when we hear Rahul's father's side of the tale. As it turns out, his dad, an avid follower of cricket and a fan of legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar, had a different inspiration for his son's name.

Gavaskar had named his own son 'Rohan,' and Rahul's father intended to follow suit. However, in a twist of fate, the name got lost in translation, and 'Rohan' somehow became 'Rahul.'
