With hopes of bettering their third places finishes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and 2023 editions, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) went into the 2024 Auctions with the minimum purse, with INR 13.15 crore in the bank.

LSG made a monumental change in their coaching staff, roping in former Australian coach Justin Langer as head coach for the upcoming season while retaining Morne Morkel and Jonty Rhodes as bowling and fielding coaches, respectively. 

LSG think-tank went in with a total of six spots available, with only two overseas slots remaining after retaining 19 players from the earlier editions, which included a trade-off with Rajasthan Royals securing Devdutt Padikkal.

LSG in IPL 2024 Auction 

The Lucknow-based franchise's first buy was Shivam Mavi, who came in for a hefty sum of INR 6.40 crore. After a long wait, Giants picked up India Under-19 World Cup 2024 squad member Arshin Kulkarni for INR 20 lakhs.

Spinner M. Siddharth got brought for INR 2.40 crore, becoming the most priciest from set 8,9 and 10. 

In the penultimate leg of the auction, which is the accelerated session one, LSG bagged BBL star all-rounder Ashton Turner for INR 1 crore firstly, then snatched England pacer David Willey for INR 2 crore. 

The final spot in the squad went to Mohd. Arshad Khan for INR 20 lakhs.
