The IPL 2026 Mini Auction took place on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, and Punjab Kings (PBKS) made calculated moves to strengthen their squad ahead of the 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

The team retained the majority of their core players, showing faith in the squad that performed strongly last season. However, the Punjab Kings also made some tough decisions. Star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was released after failing to deliver consistent performances in IPL 2025. 

Australian all-rounder Aaron Hardie was also released, while Josh Inglis was released due to limited availability during the early part of the season.

IPL 2026: PBKS retained players list

After finishing as runners-up in IPL 2025, Punjab Kings entered the auction with a remaining purse of Rs 11.50 crore and just four vacant slots (two for Indian players and two for overseas players). 

With a largely settled team from last season, the franchise focused on maintaining balance and making smart signings.

In the IPL 2026 auction, Ben Dwarshuis was sold to Punjab Kings for INR 4.40 Cr, and this is the their highest bid for this season.

Conclusion

Punjab Kings made some significant signings to strengthen their squad. The team's biggest buy this season was Australian pacer Ben Dwarshuis ( INR 4.40 crore).

The franchise also secured Cooper Connolly for INR 3 crore. In addition to these signings, Punjab Kings added two uncapped players, Pravin Dubey and Vishal Nishad.
