The much-awaited IPL 2026 mini auction was conducted on Tuesday, December 16, in Abu Dhabi. Talking about Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions had retained 17 players, apart from trading Shardul Thakur, Shefrane Rutherford and Mayank Markande into their team. 

So, Mumbai Indians were one of the most settled teams heading to the IPL auction table. They entered the auction with INR 2.75 crores in pursuit of filling the remaining five slots, including one overseas. Here's how MI performed in the IPL 2026 mini auction.

MI didn't have the scope to sign the potentially most expensive players, as they entered the auction with a budget of 2.75 crores. South African opener Quinton de Kock made his MI homecoming, returning to the side at a price of INR 1 crore, emerging as their most expensive IPL 2026 auction buy.

Mumbai Indians opened their account in the IPL 2026 auction by signing Quinton de Kock at his base price of INR 1 crore. They further went on to sign renowned domestic batter Danish Malewar, seam bowler Mohammad Izhar and all-rounder Atharva Ankolekar
