The 2024 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to kick off in March next year, with a preliminary mini auction set to be held in Dubai on December 19.
The cash-rich league is slated for the March to May period next year, and ahead of that, all ten franchises will get the chance to revamp their squads in the upcoming auction for the next season.
In another significant update, the deadline for retaining or releasing players has been fixed for November 26. Until that date, all ten teams can decide which players they wish to retain or release.
Additionally, a trade window is now in operation, allowing all ten teams to engage in player trades with one another, whether it involves player exchanges or financial transactions.
What is the purse for IPL 2024 Auction?
In order to assemble their squads for the upcoming season, each team will have a purse of INR 100 crore (equivalent to approximately USD 12.02 million), marking a INR 5 crore increase from last season's INR 95 crore.
The auction purse for each team will be contingent on the outcome of their player retention and release actions before the mini-auction.
