In a significant development, the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) have signed seamer Gurnoor Brar as a replacement for an injured Sushant Mishra for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

The left-arm quick Sushant Mishra, who was a part of India's U-19 during the 2020 World Cup, was acquired by the GT franchise for a whooping sum of INR 2.2 crores ahead of IPL 2024. 

Meanwhile, Punjab's Gurnoor Brar made his IPL debut last season for Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Lucknow in IPL 2023, after being brought in for Angad Bawa.

"Gurnoor has represented Punjab in domestic cricket in five First-Class and one List A match. In 2023, he played a solitary match for the Punjab Kings in the Tata IPL. He signs in for his reserve price of INR 50 lakhs," a BCCI press release read.

It has been understood that Brar was one of the net bowlers in the GT camp, after being go unsold earlier in the year. 

Talking about the Shubman Gill-led side, they are languishing at 8th position on the points table. However, GT won a massive game against Chennai at Ahmedabad on Friday, keeping their hopes alive for playoffs.

The Titans will next play Kolkata in a do-or-die affair on Tuesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
