Harshal Patel has been a revelation for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the past two seasons. He continues to be the main man with the ball for RCB and in the just concluded match against LSG, he scalped his 100th wicket in the coveted tournament.
With the crucial wicket of Mark Wood, he joined an elite list of bowlers who have taken 100 wickets in the IPL. Despite playing in the IPL since 2012, it was two years ago when he truly bursted onto the scene.
He picked up a whopping 32 wickets in the tournament and became the joint-highest wicket taker in a single IPL season, the other one being Dwayne Bravo.
Harshal Patel continued the good work in the 2022 season as well, picking up 19 wickets, at an average of 21.58.
Against LSG, despite going for truckloads of runs at the hands of Nicholas Pooran, Harshal made a strong comeback and scalped two wickets at the death to keep RCB alive in the contest. He took the game to the wire, but LSG prevailed in the end by 1 wicket.
