Day 1 of the third Test between India and Australia has been called off because of rain. The match kickstarted at the usual start time of 5:50 am IST and 10:20 AM local time. However, the rain played a spoilsport when Australia, batting first, were 28/0.
It was heavy downpour in Brisbane, and despite the ground staff's best efforts, they couldn't get the ground ready for a few overs on day 1. Meanwhile, Cricket Australia has announced a few major updates for the remainder of the days for the 3rd Test.
To compensate for the lost overs on day 1, now the match would start 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. The play on day 2 and other days will commence from 5:20 am IST and 9:50 am local time. Also, minimum of 98 overs needs to be bowled.
The fans would also be given a refund of their ticket for play as less than 15 overs were bowled on day 1.
