On Saturday, December 14, England locked horns against New Zealand in the 3rd and final Test of the series. The visitors, who are leading the series 2-0, won the toss and opted to field first at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.

After stumps on day 1, both teams would be happy as New Zealand put 315 runs on the board. Skipper Tom Latham started things on a positive note and amassed 63 (135). However, the Kiwis kept losing wickets in regular intervals before Mitchell Santner pulled them out of the slump with an unbeaten fifty.
