The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly brought membership of a popular gym in New York for the Indian cricket team. Team India players, currently in the USA for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, have expressed their concerns over the quality of the hotel gym.

Rohit Sharma and co. now have access to a quality gym closer to their team hotel in Long Island. In a bid to prepare for matches, the ‘Men in Blue’ have also been travelling to a public park for nets training sessions.

BCCI and India not happy with practice arrangements

As reported by CricketNext earlier this month, the Indian team management is not satisfied with the facilities at Cantiague Park in New York. The venue, designated by the ICC as an official net area which includes six drop-in pitches, has been used by the Indian players for their nets training session.

The BCCI have also expressed their concerns over the venue and practice arrangements, but are yet to raise an official complain yet.

Moreover, the Indian players are also not satisfied with the gym facilities available at their team hotel. Quite recently, the BCCI were forced to look for alternate options and landed a membership of a popular gym chain for players.

Despite certain training hurdles, Team India have made it two out of two on the Group A points table. A few days after ravaging Ireland, Rohit Sharma and co. overcame Pakistan in a low-scoring thriller.

Currently placed at the top of the Group A standings, they will now face co-hosts USA in match number 25 of the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 12.
