WTC's next cycle to commence from June this year
Meanwhile, after the WTC 2025 finals, the new WTC cycle will commence from 2025-27, as ICC released the schedule for the same a while ago.
The Indian cricket team, who couldn't make it to their third successive WTC final, will start their campaign for the next cycle in June 2025. India is scheduled to visit England for a five-game Test series from June 20 to August 4, 2025, as part of a Test tour. The first Test will commence at Headingley in Leeds on June 20, just days after the WTC final in London.
Besides, India is scheduled to tour New Zealand and Sri Lanka before hosting Australia, West Indies, and South Africa at home.
Australia will have the Ashes series at home against England and tour India, South Africa, and the West Indies to get the maximum points that they can manage.
WTC 2025 finals to be held between Australia and South Africa
Australia will take on South Africa in the World Test Championship 2025 finals from June 11-15 at the Lord's cricket ground. South Africa will be seeking their first-ever WTC title by entering the final. They are having their second shot at the ICC trophy after missing the T20 World Cup 2024 just by a small margin.
Meanwhile, the defending WTC champions, Australia, are keen to retain their title and win another ICC trophy. With a comprehensive Test victory against India, Pat Cummins and his team are looking to add glory at the iconic Lord's.
