The Asia Cup 2025 is less than a month away. It will be the 17th edition of the continental cup that begins on September 9 in the UAE. Ahead of the much-awaited competition, India's participation is in doubt because of the politically strained relations with Pakistan.
At present, India are set to play the Asia Cup, but things can still turn around and the Men in Blue might skip the seventeenth edition of the prestigious event.
India Asked To Boycott Prestigious Event
Notably, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side will miss their second-ever Asia Cup, as India also pulled out of the 1986 event because of strained relations with Sri Lanka and were replaced by Bangladesh.

Oman To Make Asia Cup Debut In 2025
For the upcoming edition, the tournament will feature eight teams for the first time in their history. Five full-members (India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan) will be a part of the tournament, while Hong Kong, Oman, and UAE qualified through 2024 ACC's premier Cup.
Notably, Oman will equal Nepal's feat, who too have just a solitary appearance in the continental cup. Further, Hong Kong and UAE will have their fourth appearances and Sri Lanka will inch closer to become the first team to 20 Asia Cup appearances.
