In a significant development, the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy has shattered all records to become the most-viewed Test series digitally. The series was streamed on Jio Hotstar on digital platforms, and according to the data, over 170 million viewers, which is around 17 crore viewers.

Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Scripts Viewership History

According to The Times of India, the fifth Day of the 5th Test at the Oval saw nearly 1.3 crore viewers tune in to watch the epic finish where India sealed a six-run win to level the series 2-2. Further, nearly 65 billion minutes of watch time was recorded for the inaugural Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

"The extraordinary response to India's tour of England reinforced Test cricket's ability to forge compelling narratives in almost every session of every match. Reaching over 170 million viewers and setting new concurrency records is a testament not just to the thrilling cricket, but also to our commitment to delivering an immersive storytelling and viewing experience," said Siddharth Sharma, Head of Content - Sports, JioStar.

Staggering Numbers: A Positive Sign For Test Cricket

Notably, before the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, the 2025 WTC final between South Africa and Australia at Lord's became the most-watched non-India match on Jio Hotstar. As per official figures, 2.94 billion viewing minutes were recorded on Star Sports, which made it the highest-rated and most-watched non-India Test match ever on the network.

The match also clocked a record reach of 47 million viewers across India. The WTC Final 2025 saw 225 million views online, also beating the India vs Australia WTC Final in 2023.

It is a positive sign for Indian fans as well, because the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy marked the first tour without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Thus, there were doubts over the viewership as the two veterans are known for bringing in the most crowd for a cricket match.
