The Australian team won a thrilling first T20I Vs South Africa on Sunday, and the caravan now shifts towards the second game of the series at the same venue - Darwin. The home side defeated the visitors in a nail-biter and will look to wrap up the series with a win against the Proteas today. For this contest, they have made one huge change in the playing XI.

Mitch Marsh, the T20I captain, has dropped Josh Inglis from the lineup and has brought in Alex Carey in his place. Interestingly, Inglis wasn't dropped due to a form issue.

Why was Josh Inglis dropped from playing XI?

During toss time, skipper Mitchell Marsh addressed the issue and stated that the aggressive Inglis was rested for the game as he was suffering from the flu. Inglis is a key component of the Australian batting lineup, and the selectors were not willing to take any risk, and hence, Inglis was made to sit out of the contest, with Carey replacing him.

How Inglis performed in the first T20I Vs South Africa

Interestingly, Inglis had a game to forget in Darwin on Sunday, as the talented player couldn't even open his account, and was dismissed for a duck. The wicket had assistance for the bowlers, and the Aussie batter failed to deliver the goods and threw his wicket to George Linde.
