In what comes as a good news for cricket fans across the globe, the India versus Pakistan Asia Cup match could be resumed very soon, as it has stopped raining in Colombo. As per the latest visuals, the groundsmen could be seen working tirelessly to dry the outfield, with the game expected to restart following formal ground inspection.

After being invited to bat, India got off to a flying start to their innings, courtesy of a flamboyant opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

While Gill found his mojo from the word go, Sharma took some time to settle before unleashing his beast mode against ace Pakistani spinner Shadab Khan.

Both batters slammed scintillating fifties, helping India get a magnificent start in the game. Although Pakistan made an impressive comeback, dismissing both the Indian openers in quick succession, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul prevented them from getting another breakthrough before rain intervened in the well-poised clash.

However, now as the rain has stopped, the players as well as the fans are eagerly waiting for the game’s resumption. As per the latest news, we have already started losing overs since 6.22 PM IST. The outfield has turned muddy, with puddles being formed along the boundary line.

It’s important to note that the umpires will inspect the playing conditions at 7.30 PM IST and the cut-off time for a restart is 12.00 AM IST. If no further play is possible today, India will resume their innings from where they left when rain arrived to spoil the party.
