Nitish Kumar Reddy is particularly known for his all-round performance and has been an asset to the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad for the past two years. Recently, the right-handed batter made his debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy during the Perth Test.

Reddy also played a crucial inning when India was struggling at just 73 runs in its first innings. The 21-year-old stood strong to become the top scorer with 41 runs that boosted India to gain momentum with the bowling attack against Australia's first inning.

In the beginning of Day 2, 7Cricket host Alison Mitchell asked Nitish about his eye-catching tattoos. "There's a big tattoo on your arm. 13 hours it took. How does it inspire you?" Reddy, who already is a manga-lover and draws inspiration from Naruto, replied enthusiastically.

"The tattoo shows the warrior and the tiger. Whenever I see the tattoo, I want to feel like you are the warrior when you are playing in the centre," said Reddy.

"When a tiger makes it territory in the jungle, it doesn't allow any other animal or any other being to come in that zone. So that's how I want to feel, when you are at the centre, you need to be like you are the king," Reddy added.

Nitish Reddy Reveals Gambhir's Pep Talk

On Day 1 of the Perth Test, when India was almost drowning by the Australian pace attack, Nitish partnered with Rishabh Pant, hitting six boundaries and a single six.

Reddy's recipe to success might be coach Gautam Gambhir's pep talk on the eve of the test.

“He (Gambhir) mentioned when you get any bouncers or something like those sharp spells, you just take them on to your shoulders and just feel like you are taking a bullet for your country,” Reddy revealed.

In the ongoing match, India are in the driving seat with a score of 359/5. Nitish Kumar Reddy is yet to bat in the second innings and he'll be eager to score more runs if the chance arrives.
