India have a horrendous start to the Australia tour, as they suffered a batting collapse in the ongoing first Test at Perth Stadium. In regular skipper Rohit Sharma's absence, India's stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and elected to bat first on a spicy pitch. However, his decision backfired on the visitors, with the Australian pace battery running through India's batting order.

The visitors had an early setback, as Mitchell Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck. Devdutt Padikkal, who replaced Shubman Gill in India's playing XI, also couldn't do much, being dismissed without disturbing the scorers.

Talismanic batter Virat Kohli was Josh Hazlewood's second victim, while KL Rahul was controversially declared out for 26. The in-form Dhruv Jurel departed for 11 runs, while Washington Sundar scored only four runs off 15 deliveries.

As soon as India lost their sixth wicket, fans became curious about India's worst-ever performance at Perth Stadium.

What Is India's Lowest Total At Perth Stadium?

Currently, India are tottering at 83 for six, with Rishabh Pant and debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy batting in the middle. If the visitors don't breach the 140-run mark, they will record their lowest-ever total in a Test match at this venue.

Notably, India's worst-ever score at Perth Stadium is 140, which they scored in the second Test against the Aussies during the 2018-19 tour. While India's first innings witnessed Virat Kohli's batting excellence, the visitors fell flat in the final innings, being bowled out for a paltry total and losing the game by 146 runs. So, they still need 58 runs to avoid the embarrassing landmark, chances of which look bleak at the moment.
