USA-based Indian pacer Saurabh Netravalkar has been added to the IPL 2025 mega auction list at the eleventh hour by BCCI. The original list had 574 names, but now it’s 577 with Netravalkar, Jofra Archer, and Hardik Tamore sneaking in just before the big day.
Saurabh Netravalkar Joins IPL 2025 Auction as Late Entrant
When the BCCI dropped their auction list, Saurabh Netravalkar wasn’t on it. Fans were scratching their heads, especially since he was one of 10 USA players who signed up. Two others, Unmukt Chand and Ali Khan, made the cut, but no Netravalkar. Now, out of the blue, he’s in the game.
It is not a surprise that Netravalkar’s name has been added to the IPL 2025 auction list. At the T20 World Cup 2024, he was on fire.
Six wickets in six games, and a standout performance against Pakistan where he sent Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed packing. On top of that, he bowled a stunning Super Over, giving away just 13 runs to help the USA pull off a massive win against the Men in Green.
From Mumbai to the Big Leagues
Netravalkar’s journey is stuff of dreams. He started in Mumbai, played for India U-19, and then moved to the USA, balancing cricket with a tech job at Oracle. He’s got 36 wickets in 36 T20Is and 88 scalps in 56 ODIs. The speedster knows how to deliver, whether it’s on the field or in the office.
With his late entry, Netravalkar might just be the surprise pick of the auction. Teams looking for a reliable left-arm pacer could snag him for a bargain. He’s proven he can handle the pressure, and his addition has definitely spiced things up.
