Pakistan suffered a massive blow ahead of the third and final Test starting tomorrow in Karachi, with star opener Imam-ul-Haq getting ruled out of the dead rubber.  According to Cricket Pakistan, Haq pulled his hamstring during practice session at the national stadium.

England lead the three-Test series 2-0 after winning the first two encounters at Rawalpindi and Multan, respectively. Shan Masood is likely to be drafted in place of the left-hander up top as a like-for-like replacement.

So far in the series, Haq has amassed 229 runs at an average of 57.25 with a century and a solitary half-century.

Masood made a return to the Test squad after an incredible season with Derbyshire Cricket County Club in the County Championship 2022, scoring 1,074 runs in Division Two.

England have already announced their playing XI for the Karachi Test, handing debut to 18-year-old Rehan Ahmed.

The second change in their starting XI is the inclusion of Ben Foakes, who comes in for pacer James Anderson.
