Ever since the Indian Premier League (IPL) began in 2008, a paradigm shift in cricket started with T20 leagues cropping up across the board in all cricket-playing nations. After unsuccessful attempts, the Pakistan Cricket Board started the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2016 and has since established itself as one of the most-watched T20 competitions going around.

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter and captain of Multan Sultans Mohammad Rizwan has once again started the debate about which league is better, the PSL or the IPL.

Speaking during the PSL 2023 Draft in Karachi last evening, Rizwan stated that the PSL will be rated better than the IPL if players around the world were questioned.

"PSL has stunned the entire world. There were talks earlier that PSL won't be successful, but even us, as a player, have felt that PSL is a success. The IPL is there, but if you ask any player around the world who has played in the PSL, he would say that Pakistan's league is the toughest in the world,”

Rizwan, who led the Multan Sultans to their maiden title in 2021 further said that the quality of reserve players in the PSL are superior because they warm the bench for their national teams.
