The delay in releasing the official pitch and outfield ratings by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the 54 matches of the T20 World Cup held in the United States and West Indies has raised eyebrows.

ICC Yet To Upload Pitch Ratings For T20 World Cup Venues

The ICC website has not yet uploaded the pitch and outfield ratings even after 46 days. During the 50-over World Cup in India, pitch assessment ratings were promptly uploaded within a week of each match. This delay has particularly raised questions on ICC.

The New York cricket stadium has garnered widespread criticism for its inconsistent bounce and slow outfield, making it challenging for teams to chase scores as low as 120.

If assessed fairly, New York is likely to receive an average or below-average rating for both the pitch and outfield.  The categories of ratings are very good, good, satisfactory, average, below average.

Furthermore, the fact that the ICC's website has not been updated since May 31, 2024, for international matches. This adds to the uncertainty and speculation surrounding this issue which is alarming.
