The Welsh Fire won the toss in this game and opted to bat first. The Welsh Fire had a steady start as their top-order set the stage for the lower order batters to launch at the opposition bowlers.

Luke Well and Glenn Phillips had a dynamic partnership in the middle order and propelled the team towards a massive total. Luke Wells scored 53 runs off 30 deliveries while Glenn Philipps played a gem of a cameo scoring 48 off just 19 deliveries. The duo stitched together 76 off just 30 deliveries and helped the Welsh Fire reach a massive total of 181/5 in their 200 balls. 

Glenn Phillips hit a monstrous six to Tymal Mills

During his stay in the middle, the New Zealand international tonked Tymal Mills away for a massive six. It was the last delivery of the 16th set, where Tymal Mills bowled a slowish delivery around the full length at the off and middle stump line. Phillips spotted the slower one early and waited for the ball to arrive. He then cleared his front leg and swatted the ball away over mid-wicket fence for a huge maximum. 

Phillips's power and how nicely he made connection with the ball was evident from the fact that the ball travelled a distance of 107 metres. It stands as one of the largest sixes of this edition of The Hundred.

At the time of writing the Southern Brave were stationed at 21 for the loss of lost two wickets in pursuit of the massive target of 182 runs. But unfortunately for the Welsh Fire team that match has been abandoned due to rain.
