In a major development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the full schedule of the Women's World Cup 2025 warm-up fixtures. A total of nine warm-up matches will be played from September 25 to 28, providing teams with crucial preparation time before the World Cup kicks off on September 30. The tournament will run until November 2, 2025.
The warm-up matches will be hosted across four venues, with two located in Bengaluru- the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the Centre of Excellence Ground and two in Colombo, Sri Lanka-the R. Premadasa Stadium and the Colombo Cricket Club Ground.
All Eight Qualified Teams To Participate
All eight teams that have secured qualification for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will take part in the warm-up games. Each team is scheduled to play two matches, with the exception of defending champions Australia, who will feature in only one warm-up game.
These practice matches are expected to help teams adapt to conditions and assess combinations ahead of the highly competitive main event.
'A' Teams Included for Match Practice
India ‘A’ and Sri Lanka ‘A’ teams will also be part of the warm-up fixture roster. While India ‘A’ will play one match, Sri Lanka ‘A’ will be involved in two games.
Opening Warm-Up Fixtures Set For September 25
The warm-up schedule begins on September 25 with four exciting matchups:
- India vs England at Centre of Excellence Ground, Bengaluru
- South Africa vs New Zealand at M. Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru
- Sri Lanka vs Pakistan at Colombo Cricket Club, Colombo
- Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka ‘A’ at R.Premadasa, Colombo
The second and final round of warm-up fixtures will be held on September 27:
- Australia vs England – (Australia’s only warm-up match) at BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 Ground, Bengaluru.
- India vs New Zealand at M. Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru
- Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh at Colombo Cricket Club, Colombo.
