Adam Zampa Penalised For Inappropriate Language In 1st ODI

Adam Zampa has been punished for his foul language during South Africa innings. The spinner lost his cool after a misfield and overthrow off his bowling and has now accepted the official sanction by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

Talking about the first ODI, South Africa won the match comfortably by 98 runs. The Proteas posted a good score of 298 after being asked to bat first, with Aiden Markram top scoring for his team. The pitch was assisting spinners, but Adam Zampa could get only one wicket while Travis Head bagged four.

Keshav Maharaj Pins Down Australia

In the second half, the Australian batters struggled big time against the South African spinner, Keshav Maharaj. The left-arm spinner picked up a five-wicket haul while Nandre Burger and Lungi Ngidi bagged two each to pin down the Aussies for just 198.

The two teams will now go head-to-head in the second ODI in Mackay on Friday, August 22. It is a must-win game for Australia, while for the visitors, it is an opportunity to beat the World Champions at their home.
