The game of cricket is expanding its boundaries as it is making a triumphant return in the Olympics after 128 years. The cricket fans are set to enjoy the thrills of the game at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

As the world is witnessing a historic moment, the preparations are in full swing. With some confusion swirling around age limits and team qualifications, the ICC’s upcoming conclave is set to clear the air and bring much-needed clarity.

ICC To Tackle Age Rule Puzzle For LA Olympics

As the game of cricket is returning to the prestigious stage of the Olympics, the cricket world is waiting for the historic moment. Before the historic sporting event goes live, the eligibility age to participate in cricket is raising concerns.

While cricket legends often burst onto the scene at a young age, the committee is now considering setting a minimum age to ensure a fair playing field. As it is turning heads, the International Cricket Council is set to discuss the issue at their annual conference, which is scheduled to take place from July 17 to 20 in Singapore.

According to Cricbuzz, there is a guideline suggesting that 15 is the minimum age to play senior international cricket. But the highest cricket body is set to take the final call regarding this in the upcoming meeting.

Which Six Teams Are Set To Battle It Out In The Historic Event?

As the game is coming up, the men’s and women’s sides are set to heat up the stage with some unmissable T20 actions. But the concerns sparked over which six teams across the globe will be eligible for the Olympics.

If it goes by T20 rankings, India, England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the West Indies from both men’s and women’s sides will qualify. That means the host nation, the USA, could miss out, sparking another wave of confusion

Till now, it remains unclear whether the host country will receive the direct qualification or it will be as per the T20 rankings. Though ICC Chairman Jay Shah hinted at a decision before, the final answers will only come at the upcoming ICC conclave.
