During the ongoing third Test between England and India, the Indian skipper Shubman Gill praised pacer Nitish Kumar Reddy for his excellent bowling, but with a twist. Nitish Kumar Reddy delivered a brilliant spell in the Lord's Test, as he picked up the wickets of both the English openers.
Shubman Gill Flaunts His Telugu Speaking Skills
By the end of the 13th over, England were having a solid head start with both the openers, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, at the crease, as England did not lose a wicket. However, with the introduction of a pace all-rounder, Nitish Kumar Reddy, India roared back into the game, as the Andhra Pacer took two wickets in the same over, dismissing both openers to help India fight back into the contest.
Reddy's efforts helped India get ahead of England, as skipper Shubman Gill was high on praise for the Indian pacer. A few overs after the eventful over, Reddy, who continued to bowl in the 16th over against the English batter Joe Root, was bowling with high consistency and pace and bounce that troubled the English star batter, as he beat the bat on a few occasions.
Shubman, standing in slips, was highly impressed by the 22-year-old's performance. Following this, the stump mic picked up Gill speaking in Telugu as he tried to boost Reddy's confidence, causing commentators to laugh.
"Bagundhi Raa Mawa" (It's good, man)
Gill decided to praise the pacer as he spoke a few words in Telugu, which translated to "It's good, man."
England Lose Pope Straightaway After Tea
After the first session ended, England fought back hard, led by Ollie Pope and Joe Root, as the second session, which is the post-lunch session, concluded without any wickets for India. By Tea, England were 153 for two after the end of 49 overs, with Pope on 44* and Root 54*.
However, on the very first delivery after Tea, Pope edged one to stand-in keeper Dhruv Jurel as Ravindra Jadeja bagged his first wicket of the game, reducing the home side to 153/3.
