India registered a commanding win over Australia in their final Super 8 game of T20 World Cup 2024 and have qualified for the semis of T20 World Cup 2024, by winning all their games. There is still one spot left though, and it is a three-way battle between Australia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
The equation for Afghanistan is simple, they need to just win the game against Bangladesh and they will qualify. However, things are tricky for the other two teams, let's dive deeper into it.
How Can Bangladesh Qualify for T20 World Cup 2024 Semifinal?
The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh team have not won a single game in Super 8 so far with losses against Australia and India. However, if they beat Afghanistan by more than 61 runs or chase down the target set by Afghans in 13 overs, they can still go past Australia and Afghanistan on net run-rate and make it to the semis.
Australia, on the other hand, need Bangladesh to win but by less than 61 runs, and no matter which team qualifies, they will have to play their Semifinal 1 against South Africa in Tarouba, Trinidad.
