Arshdeep Singh started off an important game against Australia with a big wicket of David Warner, and then came back at the death and killed the chase with big wickets of Matthew Wade and Tim David.

The wicket of Tim David came off a full toss on the fifth delivery of the 18th over. It was a full toss on middle and leg and David tried to slog it towards the leg side. However, all he could manage was an outside edge and the ball flew towards short third man where Jasprit Bumrah took an easy catch.

At the time of David's wicket, Australia still needed 40 off just 13 balls and India eventually ended up winning the game by 24 runs.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and decided to chase on a flat batting deck. However, the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma was in the mood to avenge the 2023 World Cup final loss, and smashed 92 off just 41 balls. 

India posted 205 on the board and it was always going to be tough task for Australia from hereon. After the loss, Australia are now in a tricky position and need Afghanistan to lose their match against Bangladesh, if they want to qualify for the semis.
