The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Monday (November 6), provided an update on their pacer Ihsanullah’s injury, who has been away from due to elbow surgery.

In accordance with a report issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ihsanullah is showing promising signs of recovery after an 11-week period of post-operative care, stemming from an elbow injury.

Here, it’s worth mentioning that an English doctor was brought in to perform the surgery on the fast bowler in the initial week of September.

Additionally, the report stated that post-surgery, the fast bowler had to wear an elbow brace for four weeks, with both a doctor and a physiotherapist tending to him daily at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

Here’s what PCB said in a press-release

“Ihsanullah’s elbow brace was removed in the fifth week after which he started his active rehabilitation. His MRI CT scans in the second week of October showed signs of recovery according to the doctors who described them as having satisfactory post-surgical appearances. Doctors are confident that Ihsanullah will be able to begin functional training after the completion of the 16th week of his recovery.”

Ihsanullah has been sidelined from international cricket since his last appearance for Pakistan in the ODI series against New Zealand at home in April of this year. His participation in the Test series against Australia at the end of 2023 or in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) next year is also in jeopardy.
