Led by Babar Azam, Pakistan have blown hot and cold in the ongoing ODI World Cup, placed fifth in the points table with four wins in eight appearances. The Men in Green had a great start to the tournament, securing thumping victories over Sri Lanka and the Netherlands in Hyderabad. However, what followed next was nothing short of a nightmare for Pakistan, as they succumbed to four consecutive defeats before making significant changes to their playing XI.

One such notable change was the axing of Imam-ul-Haq, who was replaced by his former opening partner Fakhar Zaman following a slump in form. Imam, who managed to score only 162 runs across six outings, was scrutinised for his sub-par scoring rate and outdated batting approach.

However, there was a time when Imam gave some big-hitting lessons to legendary New Zealand keeper-batter Brendon McCullum.

In a video doing rounds on social media, Imam can be seen revealing his batting strategy to McCullum, known for his extraordinary hitting skills. The southpaw explains why it is important to get set in the middle before adopting an aggressive approach.

However, Pakistani fans found it funny, considering the giant gulf between the batting qualities of Imam and McCullum.

Considering Pakistan have found a stabilised opening combination of Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman, Imam is unlikely to feature in the remaining games. Therefore, his career as a white-ball batter is in jeopardy and could be decided by the PCB in the near future.
