The positive energy and support surrounds the Indian women's cricket team as they depart for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, that is slated to begin from October 3 in the United Arab Emirates hosted by Bangladesh. 

On Wednesday early morning, BCCI Women's official handle on X (formerly known as Twitter) released official pictures from their departure. This included a group photograph along with some individual snapshots of India captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Renuka Singh, Shafali Varma, Jemimah Rodrigues and more.


Captain Kaur On T20 WC 

During the pre-departure press conference, Harmanpreet Kaur instilled confidence in her team and revealed that the team is focused on their goal of winning the T20 World Cup.

"There is no shortage of ambition and drive in this team, and we will leave no stone unturned as we look to make a mark and go the distance, playing a fearless brand of cricket.The expectation is straightforward: to bring glory to the country and our supporters who back us to the hilt, no matter which part of the world we play in," she said, according to a media release by the ICC.

India is scheduled to play two official warm-up matches against the West Indies on September 29 and South Africa on October 1, both at the ICC Academy in Dubai. Meanwhile, they will begin their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 4.
