The India vs Bangladesh Test series action will now shift to Kanpur. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team will be eyeing another convincing win to stay at the top and clear of the other teams in the WTC points table. On the other hand, Bangladesh, who came to this series after a sensational 2-0 win against Pakistan, will seek redemption.

The pitch at the Kanpur stadium is expected to be dustier than the one that was available in Chennai. The general consensus is that Bangladesh will be presented with a more spin-friendly wicket at the Greenpark Stadium in Kanpur.

It will be a tough challenge for the visitors against the quality spin attack of the home team. But here are three things that Bangladesh need to learn from the first match and do right in this game to beat India.

3. Seizing the crucial moments of the game

In the first Test, the Bangladesh team had the hosts under pressure on the first day at 34/3 inside the first ten overs. However, after this, the Indian team gradually made a comeback in the match, and the partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin batted them out of the game.

Najmul Hossain Shanto and his men need to be more proactive during this type of situation in the second Test. They need to be patient but keep looking for wickets and put India under more pressure if and once they have them on the mats. In the Chennai Test, Shanto was seen going through the motions after a certain stage and never looked to be thinking ahead of the game. This is where the whole team needs to step up.

2. Middle order needs to show more resilience

Bangladesh's middle order, which comprises names like Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, needs to show more resilience and grit. In the first Test, the Bangladesh middle-order added only 109 runs, and in the second innings, they scored 142, out of which Shanto scored 82 alone. The fragility of the Bangladesh middle order was one of the prime reasons that Bangladesh fell behind in the game and conceded a massive victory to India.

1. Take the big call of dropping Shakib Al Hasan

In the first Test, we saw that Shakib Al Hasan was ineffective as a bowler. In the two innings, Shakib bowled 21 overs, conceded 129 runs, and failed to pick up a single wicket. Besides being a flop show with the ball, he delivered two average performances with the bat in the two innings. With scores of 32 and 25, Shakib failed to impact the game with the bat in the way that was expected of him.

In the second Test match, Bangladesh management must make the difficult decision of seeing past the veteran all-rounder. With Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the lower middle order, they can afford to go with an extra spinner, especially with the talks of a spin-friendly wicket being served at Kanpur.

Looking at the struggle of the top Indian batters against left-arm spinners, Taijul Islam seems to be a great option, or they can even opt for Nayeem Hasan.
