India Women's captain Harmanpreet Kaur could find herself in trouble following her antics in Bangladesh during the post-series ceremony. Kaur, appointed women's captain for the Asian Games 2023 due in Hangzhou, China, could end up missing India's first two matches for the tournament, with the International Cricket Council (ICC) expected to punish the batter severely.

Kaur went out of her way and criticised the umpires after the series decider against Bangladesh ended in a tie on July 22, which if punished as per Cricbuzz could her tally to four demerit points.

The Hangzhou Asian Games 2023 starts on September 23 and ends on October 8, with India gaining an automatic qualification in the quarterfinals courtesy of ICC Rankings. If Kaur accumulates four demerit points, she could miss both knockout matches for India - quarterfinal and semifinal.

The Indian captain, apart from publicly calling out umpires, also hit the stumps on her way out after being given out, which has not been appreciated by former players and fans.

The ICC is likely to announce its sanctions on Kaur this week, which the Mumbai Indians skipper can challenge, following which an ICC match referee will conduct a meeting.
