The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted no-objection certificates (NOCs) to three of its prominent cricketers, Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, and Usama Mir, for their participation in the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 season.

PCB clears Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, Usama Mir for BBL 2023-24

This decision comes as part of the board's strategy to manage the workload of its players while aligning with the national men's team's future tours programme. In a move to balance the importance of game time with effective workload management, the PCB sees this as a beneficial decision for all parties involved.

Fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan, along with leg-spinner Usama Mir, will be participating in the Australian domestic T20 cricket tournament. Haris and Usama have been approved to play in five matches each, while Zaman has been cleared for four matches, all scheduled between December 7 and December 28.

Rauf, in particular, will miss the later matches of the BBL, which coincide with Pakistan's T20 series in New Zealand slated for January. It is worth mentioning that Rauf's participation in the BBL has been a key marketing focus, especially in attracting the South Asian audience in Australia.

His team, Melbourne Stars, has initiated several unique promotional efforts, including the "House of Rauf" Membership and a dedicated "Haris Rauf Bay" at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The BBL, set to run from December 7, 2023, to January 24, 2024, may feel the impact of Rauf's potential absence in its later stages. His growing popularity and influence in the game have made him a significant figure in the league, and his absence could have notable consequences for both his team and the league's appeal.
