The IPL 2025 is just one day away and the cricket fans of India are all set to soak themselves in unreal T20 thrills. As the new chapter begins, teams are all set to bring out their game on the big stage.
Ahead of the grand season opener, the captain’s meet remains an unshakable tradition of the marquee league. All The Captains Gather In Mumbai
Since the inaugural edition of the IPL, the captain’s meeting has been an interesting part of the tournament. Fans wait to see their favorite captain with the highly anticipated trophy in the captain’s photoshoot. But this year's captain’s meet came with a little twist.
In earlier editions, the captain’s shoot used to be organized at the venue of the inaugural match of the season. However, this year, the BCCI took a surprising turn, shifting the much-anticipated gathering to Mumbai. Apart from the meet, BCCI may also discuss the revised IPL rules.
As the meeting was scheduled for March 20, captains have already arrived in Mumbai for the event. The Indian Premier League has shared some heartwarming snaps of all the IPL captains gathered at the venue and having light time with each other before stepping into the fierce competition on the big stage.
A Bunch Of Fresh Faces In Captaincy Roles
With the tournament just one sleep away, the excitement is reaching the sky. But before stepping into the tournament, some franchises have made bold leadership calls, entrusting fresh faces with the captaincy role. In a major move, Kolkata Knight Riders appointed Ajinkya Rahane as their new skipper after parting ways with IPL-winning captain Shreyas Iyer.
Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals took a similar route, parting ways with their previous captains and handing the reins to Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel, respectively. Along with that, Shreyas Iyer is set to lead Punjab Kings in the upcoming season. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have also embarked on their new journey under Rajat Patidar’s leadership.
