There are always interesting things happening across the globe every day. Sometimes some of the incidents stun the world too. One such shocking incident from Malaysia has now grabbed global attention.

A group of 15 men who are originally from Bangladesh have claimed themselves as the cricketers and were caught and arrested at the Kuala Lumpur Airport. Their bold act quickly unraveled, leading to their immediate detention.

Commoners Hail Themselves As Cricketers

A shocking incident in Malaysia has shaken up the cricket world. A group of 15 Bangladeshi men claimed themselves as cricketers caught later at the Kuala Lumpur Airport. According to media reports, the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency apprehended the group at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on March 17.

The group has also tried to mislead the authorities by donning cricket jerseys. Adding to that, they also faked an invitation result of a cricket tournament. However, with no scheduled cricket events and no valid proof of their identities as players, their cover was quickly exposed.

AKPS’s Statement

After the incident took place, AKPS aimed to take strict action for misusing official documents and entering into another country in disguise. After that, the agency released an official statement.

“We found that there was no such cricket tournament scheduled from March 21 to March 23. In addition, the ‘guarantor’ who was present at the airport admitted to having no information about the cricket tournament, and he was only at the airport as a company representative.” they said.

They also announced that the immigration department will issue a ‘Not To Land’ certificate to all the members. This certificate is typically given to individuals lacking proper documentation or those with a criminal record.
