Hardik Pandya's Face Shown For WI's Roston Chase; Netizens Insist It's Not 'Glitch'

During yesterday's T20 World Cup game, there was a funny mix-up on Star Sports. Instead of showing West Indies' (WI) Roston Chase's name after his match-winning performance against Papua New Guinea (PNG),  Indian vice captain Hardik Pandya's name appeared.

Even though it came a mistake, it's not the first time Hardik Pandya has been associated with West Indian cricket player.

His attitude and lifestyle have often drawn comparisons to West Indian players, especially during his early days with the Mumbai Indians alongside Kieron Pollard and his brother Krunal Pandya.

'Not a glitch'- says Netizens

Netizens revived an old comparison by sharing a vintage video where Krunal Pandya talks about his brother, Hardik Pandya. In the video, Krunal mentions that Hardik used to look like a West Indian when he was younger.

If you see a picture of Hardik as a child, you would think that this kid is from the Caribbean, not an Indian kid," jokes Krunal in YouTube series 'What The Duck'.

Earlier, former Indian captain and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly also remarked on Hardik's resemblance to a Caribbean player. He was speaking about Pandya in the show 'Breakfast with Champions'.

"I met Hardik Pandya the other day, it seemed like he is Jamaican-born. He can't be from Baroda!" said the former India captain on Pandya .

Indian vice captain Hardik Pandya could be India's most crucial player in West Indies for this T20 World Cup. India is missing the fourth pacer in the squad and captain Rohit Sharma has Hardik Pandya to fill that role also play the role of finisher while batting.

In the warmup game vs Bangladesh Hardik had performed well with both bat and ball.
